Child Safety

How to explore careers safely with an AI animal guide.

Last updated: July 14, 2026

Three rules: Keep private information private. Remember the guide is AI. Tell a trusted grown-up if anything feels wrong.

Who may use the chat

Career Chats is currently intended for learners age 13 and older. Children under 13 should not use the chat feature. Learners under 18 should use it with the awareness of a parent, guardian, teacher, or other trusted adult.

For learners

  • Never share your full name, home address, exact location, school, phone number, email, password, account details, photos, or private family information.
  • An animal guide is not a person or a real doctor, counselor, lawyer, coach, teacher, or financial adviser.
  • AI sometimes confidently says things that are wrong. Check important facts.
  • Do not follow dangerous instructions or meet anyone because of an online conversation.
  • If a response feels scary, sexual, hateful, dangerous, manipulative, or too personal, close the chat and tell a trusted grown-up.

For parents, guardians, and educators

  • Try the service first and stay available while a learner uses it.
  • Set a clear purpose, such as learning what a career does or which skills it uses.
  • Remind learners not to enter information that identifies them or another person.
  • Discuss answers together and verify important claims with reliable career and education sources.
  • Use the “Report a problem” link on every chat page for concerning output.

Safety controls in the service

Career Chats uses a current safety-oriented model, server-side persona rules, automated checks on questions and answers, request limits, no browser chat-history storage, and a report link. These controls reduce risk but cannot guarantee that every response will be appropriate or correct.

Urgent situations

Career Chats is not an emergency or crisis service. If someone may be in immediate danger, may hurt themselves or another person, or is being abused, stop using the chat and contact a trusted adult and local emergency services now.

Reporting

Please include the animal guide’s name, the approximate date and time, and a description of what happened. Do not include a child’s private information. If helpful, a grown-up may include the downloaded conversation after reviewing it for personal information.
